Make dinner

  1. 01

Toss the cabbage with vinegar and a pinch of salt and set aside while the pork warms.

  2. 02

Warm the roast pork in a covered skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons water until steaming.

  3. 03

Spread the rolls with mustard and fill with hot pork and Swiss. Return open-faced to the covered skillet just until the cheese melts.

  4. 04

Add the cabbage and pickle chips, close the sandwiches, and serve immediately.

Useful swaps

  • Use sliced cooked chicken instead of pork.
  • Use dairy-free sliced cheese if needed.

Why this is a good weeknight call

It keeps the cleanup to one main pan. The ingredient list stays focused, and the recipe has a clear stopping point instead of extra optional projects.
